Goddess Interrupted Aimée Carter Books

I finished this book in a day, but it was a love hate relationship. Now don't get me wrong I love the story line and the path that Kate has to take to save the people she loves. What I did not like was her constant need for reassurance from Henry, I understand her need but it was hard to read and sort of stressful. Why the author felt she needed to drag out the difficulties of their relationship in the way she chose is beyond me, and I feel sort of took away from the story as a whole.

Saying all of that I still love this series and, like I said before, finished the book in a day. The story keeps you captivated the whole time and once things are finally settled a little bit for Kate and Henry its easy to love the relationship they develop. I continue to love all the main characters and the roll each of them play in Cronus, the Titans, struggle to escape the underworld. This second book is pretty fast paced and keeps the reader intrigued. The ending is pretty shocking in more way than one and definitely leaves you hanging needing to find out what will happen next. Luckily for me and you the third and final book in the series is already released and downloaded on my kindle.

Goddess Interrupted Aimée Carter Books Reviews

Goddess Interrupted was a great sequel to The Goddess Test, but was also lacking in some ways. I love the writing and love the character development, even though, at time the main characters tend to be slightly immature for their age. The action in this story is probably my favorite part of all. The author has some intense battle scenes and some great plot twists intertwined as well. I am currently reading the third installment and plan on finishing the series.

Overall Good book with some minor drawbacks, but nothing you can't skim through quickly enough. I think others judged this middle book a bit too harshly, as I feel the author was very much going for a main character who is still coming into her own and discovering herself as a woman, thus, she is bound to feel exceptionally scared, insecure and uncertain. If we look deeply at Kate and what she has been through and what she competes with, her constant ramblings and worrying make quite a bit of sense. So, although annoying at time, in the end, it makes sense and from what I have read, this is not a constant part of book three.

Another aspect I feel was judged to harshly was the way the author described and went about the use of Greek Mythology. This is FICTION people. Enjoy the nice writing, go with the flow and lose yourself in a good book, nit-picking really won't get you anywhere or bring you the enjoyment that reading should bring. This is not a book about what you think about Greek Myths, it's the authors book, she wrote it, she gets to say what happens. Just have fun with it.

Aimee Carter is my age and a fantastic writer and I will definitely continue to read her published work.
I have so many feelings after finishing this book and while some of these feelings hurt, they hurt in the best way possible. I know what I've read is amazing when, after finishing the book, I want to thank the author for crushing my heart. That is exactly what I want to do with this book. I'd like to thank Aimee Carter for writing a book that has ripped my heart out in the most delicious way.

My main problem with The Goddess Test was how the mythology was handled. I missed that sinfulness that has become so associated with Greek Mythology. In Goddess Interrupted, you get some of that put back in the story. The Gods and Goddess aren't quite as put together as they appear in the first book and I absolutely loved it. I love more and more this world Carter has created.

I found Kate extremely interesting in this book. In The Goddess Test, Kate was very dependent on her mother. Nearly everything she decides is connected to her mother in some way. In Goddess Interrupted, Kate has lost the dependence on her mother, but instead needs Henry. She hasn't quite become her own person just yet, but the ending of Goddess Interrupted gives me hope that Kate is finally coming into her own and finding the ability to depend on herself for something. Of course, the major cliffhanger has me salivating for more and hoping Kate is able to keep growing into her own person, not dependent on anything or anyone, but can stand on her own.

The romance part of the book takes a slight backseat for parts of the novel and I'm completely fine with that. The parts of the novel between Kate and Henry were frustrating, sweet, amazing, and perfect. They're still trying to figure everything out about their relationship. They don't fall into the perfect relationship right away. They dance around each other, make mistakes. It's absolutely wonderful to see a relationship written the right way.

Goddess Interrupted is a book that has left me utterly crushed, yet hopeful and eagerly anticipating The Goddess Inheritance. It can't some out soon enough.
