I joined an online reading group and we are reading this book. I was happy to read a collection of stories that have a variety of story arcs and characters. What's most fun is that not all of the voices are identical or of the same genre. They are as diverse as my taste in stories. From a sadistic doll owner to a child of a witch coming of age story this book of short stories was a joy to read. And even though not very story was a hit in my mind, those that were stayed in my head for hours after finishing it. I have visions of me seeking more Nicki Styx stories in the future.Product details

The story was OK but I'm so disappointed that Terri has started writing short stories. I feel that it gets to be all about the money. I hate short stories but anymore if we want to know anything more about the story we have to keep paying these authors for short stories. a few pages and charge to much money. and yes a couple of dollars adds up.
This collection of stories seem more geared for women's fiction or those who like levity in their paranormal and horror. I don't. I did appreciate some of the stories with an ironic twist. Otherwise I thought it was more fluff. I like a good scary ghost story, little on the Gore but ones that will figuratively haunt you reading it. So few good ones to find. Many in this collection started promising but failed to carry through. Again, I emphasize this review is based on my own preferences. I've read other Terri Garvey books, notably "You're the One I Haunt". Terri Garvey is no doubt a talented imaginative author with a good following as evident by the other reviews. Read her by all means and decide for yourself. Perhaps someday I'll be delighted in finding she has written a more classic leave the lights on ghost story. I'll be keeping tabs on her.
Ms. Garey has done it again--she is a fabulous writer and never disappoints. She always has surprise twists that you never see coming. I would highly recommend this book!
I love these books for a light hearted read, I wish there were more of this series.
love the Nicki Styx series and have been waiting awhile for new one. We got a novella which made me anticipate the next full book more. I loved all the little stories this author also wrote in this book of shorts. You go,Terri
This is a bunch of short paranormal stories. Very entertaining book. If you love Terri Garey you will love the stories.
I loved the whole Nicki Styx series! Read the books in order, and then you'll see how a story twist is resolved in a later book. I loved Nicki's somewhat sarcastic humor. She seems like a real person; having the same characteristics of someone with the same life experiences. I very highly recommend this whole series.
